Capyerba: Yerba Mate Drink
Branding and Website
Capyerba is a fictional company invented for a collaborative web design project. Assigned to develop a website for a fictional company of our own invention and a unique product with the only limitation being that caffeine must be a main ingredient, we were led to yerba mate which is a traditional Latin and South American beverage and a natural source of caffeine. Using yerba mate as our inspiration, we researched its historical and cultural roots to build a brand identity. Based on market research and competitor analysis, we developed Capyerba and its signature Maté Latte, imaginative and playful in its visual identity. Capyerba is taken from “capybara”, a common South American animal and “yerba mate”. The capybara symbolizes connection and friendship in honor of the social significance of sharing mate with others.
Our company appeals to those who prioritize well-being in their all lifestyle choices. This target audience includes individuals whose values resonate with Capyerba’s: connection, personal wellness, and environmental sustainability. In comparison to other yerba mate beverages, our pastel color palette, simplistic aesthetic and friendly mascot aims to appeal without overwhelming the senses. Our focus on yerba mate lattes also revolutionizes the oversaturated yerba mate scene with our innovative flavor profiles.
